9:00am: Opening Keynote: Changing Landscape; New Definition of Digital - Augustine Fou

 

9:45am: Panel Discussion: The Doctor Will See You Now: Nowhere is the digital divide more evident in the healthcare business than in the way doctors and hospitals are approaching the internet and social networks. On one side, hospitals have forbidden employees to use social networks. On the other, some professionals have used them to form stronger relationships with patients and the community. This panel will weigh the pros and cons of both approaches.

 

10:45am: Research Spotlight:  What does the consumer want? A research presentation from the Center for Health Solutions which delivers research on and develops solutions to some of our nation’s most pressing health care and public health related challenges.



11:15am:  Social Media and Mobile:
What will pharma companies do with Twitter, Facebook, mobile apps and in-house message boards? As the year comes to an end the FTC still has a headlock on their activities but consumers are clearly asking for more. This panel will try to sort out the options.

 

12:15pm The Disruptive Healthcare Business Model: Clayton M. Christensen is the Robert and Jane Cizik Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School, with a joint appointment in the Technology & Operations Management and General Management faculty groups. His research and teaching interests center on the management issues related to the development and commercialization of technological and business model innovation. Specific areas of focus include developing organizational capabilities and finding new markets for new technologies. Recently, Christensen has focused the lens of disruptive innovation on social issues such as education and health care.  Disrupting Class (2008) looks at the root causes of why schools struggle and offers solutions, while The Innovator's Prescription (2009) examines how to fix our healthcare system.

3:00 pm - B2B Panel - advertising to doctors (physician focused)

4:00 pm - Pharma and healthcare examples; use of emerging tech and social networks in heavily regulated industry


5:15pm - 7:00pm: DIGIDAY:HEALTH Happy Hour Party -- The happy hour and cocktail party will allow attendees to continue to carry on conversations after the general session and networking sessions conclude. The cocktail mixer will give attendees a chance to discuss the ideas, sessions, debates presented at the event over food and drinks.
